We are joining the bands of love So are we transcending from the state of desperately searching, irresponsible singles to illuminated, enlightened new-weds. The quantum leap will be taken in two steps, one formal in Denmark (cf. Civil wedding) and one crescendo in France, 9th July 1999. Thus, we are entering the millennium as a married couple. (That's a pseudo-reason if any). Presumably most people reading this page would have a pretty good idea about Stéphanie and Per as a couple. However, since we love to tell our cute little story, why not fill out this blank with it too. It all happened in the deep South of USA: Athens, Georgia. During 96/97 Per was a visiting professor at University of Georgia, perhaps more visiting than professor. Stéphanie was an ambitious and very dynamic MBA student at the same university, and it was not before long that Per got his eyes on the slender French beauty that made such an impression on everyone. However, a broken wrist halted the approach until mid February 1997 when they first met at a birthday party. Per immediately fell in love, a limitless state of exaltation that is still visible whenever he looks at her. Steph, the happy preppy student with the world in her hand was more resistant, and it was not until a couple a weeks later she got some of the idea. A heart-shaking evening at Jittery Joe's Cafe, a path-breaking night at the phone, a pooped lunch, a surprising kiss and a most pivotal trip to California are all part of the Agrell-Colomb saga. [I will skip the details, it is not a pocket book you are reading!]
However, since Feb 27, 1997, we have been more or less inseparable, occasionally to the dismay of our loved around us. Parting from the United States in August 1997, we decided to test a blank spot on the Europe map: Denmark. After three months we understood why it had been left blank. After an additional three months, we decided to stay for a full three year period, until the Summer of 2000. Stéphanie is Product Manager at
Danone DK,responsible for yoghurts and other diary products. Per is associate professor of operations research at
the Royal Agricultural University of Denmark but maintain strong ties to his previous university, Linköping University, as well. Our favorite hobbies are eating and paying tax. Sometimes we go to Bretagne. Well, who knows. But that is the fun of being married, you can go whereever you want. Or was it the other way around? Stéphanie Colomb and Per Agrell March 5, 1999 |
